Super Slab! HB08-1007 signed by Gov. Ritter 2 June 2008 |
| June 5, 2008 |
| Greetings, Despite our best efforts 1007 is now law. According the Rep. Looper, this bill solves all corridor residents’ problems. No more title documents, no more right to develop a toll road, no more allowing private toll roads to file for exclusive corridors (the only honorable thing about this bill), no law suits for harm to corridor residents for loss of property value or title companies. Oh but don’t forget, if you live in the corridor and are trying to sell or refinance your home/property you must disclose the corridor to prospective buyers and lenders and the corridor will exist in perpetuity. Discouraging is certainly one word to describe this session. The battle to end perpetuity will be long and hard, the toll road company is willing to dump thousands of dollars into lobbyist and lawyers, full of double speak and answers to every possible objection raised over the issue of perpetuity in order to maintain their exclusive right to the corridor. We are but a few, hard working people, using what means we have to fight for what is rightfully ours, taken by a greedy man, looking to pad his pockets alone. Have a wonderful summer! Peace, Sharon |
