2nd Annual Good Neighbor Forum
March 15, 2008 - Little America Hotel in Cheyenne, WY.

Kimmi Lewis (La Junta, CO) opened the program with a Prayer and Pledge to our American Flag.

Moderator Kent Rutledge, Esq. (Cheyenne, WY) followed with the introduction, ground rules and Q&A protocol.

Kimmi Lewis and Jim Beers

Dr. Corey Ciochhetti (Westminister, CO) Associate Professor, Daniels School of Business D.U., gave a rousing talk on his book “Real Rabbits: Chasing an Authentic Life,” tying that together with the importance of Good Neighbor ethics.

Cindy Schonholtz (Colo Springs, CO) of the PRCA Animal Welfare, talked about the challenges facing us with the Horse slaughter ban and animal rights activists. She explained the difference between Animal Welfare and animal rights; most animal owners take care to properly feed, water and maintain their animals health, where animal rights believers think animals have human rights.

Ed Prosser (Cheyenne, WY) described the structure of the new Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust in conjunction with conservation easements.

Jim Keen (Colo Springs, CO), Author and photographer of “Colorado: Rocky Mountain Wide” and “Great Ranches of the West,” told about his journey from being an environmentalist to becoming an advocate for ranching and farming.

Kimmi Lewis gave a rousing talk on how the Nature Conservancy with the federal government is trying to take privately owned productive land away from the indigenous of Piñon Canyon. The U.S. Army claims it needs to expand their maneuver site in SE Colorado. Ms. Lewis posed the question, “Why take good, privately owned land out of production, when something like that...if needed...could be located in a state like Nevada, where 90% of the land is federally owned?” She questioned the real need for said expansion.

Jim Beers (Centreville, VI) a former USFWS employee whistle blower, discussed alleged endangered species and their negative impact on resource production. To read his entire transcript, click here.

Dr. Willie Soon (Boston, MA) Smithsonian-Harvard Institute physicist, described in detail his “Global Warming 101 vs Al Gore’s CO2 Theory.” Every person attending now has not doubt that Inconvenient Truth is as much a fable as Alice in Wonderland.

Personal CO2 Box

Harriet Hageman, Atty (Cheyenne, WY) gave attendees the complete connection between spotted owls, fire and pine beetles. Although an injunction was placed on the roadless, it has never been enforced.

Lyle Laverty (Washington, D.C.), US Department of the Interior’s Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks, did a great job of listening to concerns, and was enlightened to the truths and facts behind many policies. Attendees have reason to believe he’ll do a good job carrying their concerns back to D.C.

Mr. Lawrence Kogan, Esq. (Newark, NJ), Author of “Exporting Precaution: How Europe’s Risk-Free Regulatory Agenda Threatens American Free Enterprise,” tied the entire program together by illustrating how treaties and policies coming out of Europe, are impacting the United States of America.
